Back to School Videos in Google Classroom

How-to Post Back-to-School Night Video in Google Classroom

  1. Select one of your Google Classrooms.

  2. Go to the “Classwork” tab.

  3. Click and select “Topic”. 

  4. Type “Back-to-School Night” and click “Add”. If it didn’t appear at the top of your topic list on your Classwork page, drag it to the top.

  5. Click and select “Material”.

  6. Type a title for your video and add your video.

    1. To add your video:

      1. If you uploaded it to Google Drive, select this option and locate your video (if you used Screencastify it will be in a folder called “Screencastify”) OR

      2. If you recorded your video as a file on your computer, select file and attach it OR

      3. If you uploaded your video to YouTube, select this option

  7. On right-hand side of screen, click the “For” dropdown menu and select all your Google Classrooms in which you want this video to appear.

  8. On right-hand side of screen, click “Topic” and select “Back to School Night”.

  9. Now click . This will post the video immediately OR you can click the down arrow and schedule when the video is posted. The video should be posted by September 16th 3:00 PM. 

  10. Go to the Classrooms where you posted the video, and make sure that the “Back-to-School” topic is at the top of your topic list.

**If the video is just spinning and won’t load, try using Firefox as a browser. Chrome seems to sometimes be problematic when trying to play .webm and MP3 videos.**
