Academic Integrity Session 1: Pre-Assessment

Session 1: Pre-assessment

Time: 10 minutes

Students should complete this pre-assessment on their own, without discussing the questions with other students. They need to read through the 10 multiple choice questions carefully.

Time: 9 minutes
Students should watch the video
Academic Integrity Video 1.  This video covers:

  • Cheating
  • Falsifying information (making up data)
  • Recycling your own work
  • Violating Copyright and Intellectual Property Protection


Step 2: Class Discussion
Time: 10-15 minutes

Lead a discussion, based on the Video 1 Discussion Scenarios, and allowing students to determine if they represent a violation of academic integrity or not (the "answers" are on the document).

If you prefer to have one of us come onto your class for 10 minutes after the video to lead the discussion, we would be happy to do that.  Just let us know.
